A video conference is defined as a set of interactive telecommunication technologies which are used to interact between two or more locations as the same time with the help of two way video and audio transmission simultaneously. It can also be defined as a live communication between two or more then two people by using computer, web cam and network such as internet etc. Video conferencing creates a meeting environment that allows you to interact face to face with other and different meeting participants without having to be in the same physical location.  

Types of Video Conferencing

There are two basic types of video conference i.e. Point to Point and Multi Point which plays an important role in video conferencing. When the video conference is carried out between two individuals present in different physical locations, it is referred as point to point video conference and on the other hand if the conference is carried out between three or more then three locations at one time is called as multipoint conference.It becomes very popular in every work place and act as a tool of business.

There are two main ways of conference networking which connect the participants with the central hub of computer network to participate and start the video conference. IP addresses and ISDN addresses play an important role in video conference because both types of networks are suitable; you will just decide and choose the network which supports your organization requirements.

One of the most important parts of video conferencing is the video input, which comes in the form of a video camera or web cam. Audio output also plays an important role which utilizes speakers, including expensive professional selections, headphones, or many different audio types of equipment. Video conferencing can work in a number of ways depending on different technologies such as, Digital technologies, analog technologies, ISND lines, a normal broadband internet connection and radio frequencies which can include satellite transmission and even Wifi. Both video and audio signals are sent back and forth across an online bridge that connects two or more parties positioned in different locations within a real time environment and having communication with each other. It is required to pass the complete data in the form of small packets form ISDN lines from one location to another location. Another important software component which is required for video conference is Acoustic Echo Cancellation this software makes it possible for parties to talk to one another in real time without any distractions or interference. If there is no Acoustic Echo Cancellation software then one party which is in interaction to second can hear its own audio instead audio of next party. Echo cancellation software processes audio to remove any distractions caused by delays. As time passes, the increasing amount of echoes completely destroys the integrity of the conversation.
