ISDN stands for the Integrated Services Digital Network. Basically it is a type of network that is used for the communication and data transferring. Typically it is defined as the type of the communication network that is based on the digital telephony services for the sake of different purposes such as the data transmission, voice or video communication and also sending different forms of multimedia messages with the help of digital phone lines is called as the integrated services digital networks or ISDN. They are very much faster as compared to the analog telephone lines. Theses kind of networks are used in all over the world fro the sake of many useful processes.

Types of ISDN:
Integrated Services Digital Networks or ISDN also branched into two different types on the basis of their performance, infrastructure and usage. Some specifications for theses two type of ISDN are as follows
- Basic Rate Interfere (BRI)
- Primary Rate Interfere (PRI)
Basic Rate Interfere (BRI):
The first type of the integrated digital networks is the basic rate interfere. It is a type of digital network that is mainly designed for the providing the data, video or voice transmission on the ordinary copper telephone lines for the home the users is called as the basic rate interfere. There are different channels used in this type for the sake of transferring of data.
Primary Rate Interfere (PRI):
Another important type of the ISDN is the primary rate interfere. Generally it is applicable on the commercial use and enhances the businesses or different networking. 24 types of different channels are used in the PRI for data transmission. With the help of this type users have opportunity to do the video conferences over single telephone line.
