HOW OVERCLOCKING WORKS
The possibility of making the system performance higher involves a little hard work and patience so the instructions to overclock the processor are the following.
Step I: Make yourself ready with computer fans, needle nose pliers, heat-sink compound, computers, screwdriver sets, computer power supplies, processors and backup drives.
Step II: What you have to do is to check your motherboard that either it can be tune into the BIOS setup with the jumpers available or not.
Step III: Find out the clock rate set by the manufacturer in the motherboard.
Step IV: Now you have to fix all the problems occurring in the system by running all the windows available and if you have and of the third party applications like problem solving one, run them as well.
Step V: It is obvious that you would be having your personal files and documents and you would not want them to be erased so just make a complete backup of them but be careful, do not overwrite them.
Step VI: Adjusting motherboard into the BIOS setup, with the help of motherboard manual make changes and then just reboot your system.
Step VII: Now turn off your computer.
Step VIII: Now let your computer remain plugged into the surge suppressor.
Step IX: Just remove all the peripherals connected with your computer.
Step X: Take out the chassis cover.
Step XI: The next step is to take any professional grounding equipment available with you and ground yourself to the computer.
Step XII: After grounding process, place the adjustable jumpers in the motherboard that control the speed of the processor.
Step XIII: Now you have to pick the needle-nose pliers for the purpose to change the jumper settings. The jumpers should be localized as they are mentioned in the motherboard manual and set them at the desirable clock speed and if you are facing any kind of confusion just check the internet for that.
Step XIV: If you find installing a CPU heat sink and a cooling fan possible and applicable then go for it.
Step XV: Now compose your system and then reboot it again.
Step XVI: Sometimes it happens that the system doesn’t reboot but the processor kept on working. In this case try to lower the clock speed. If that also doesn’t work then you can restore the previously configured settings.
Step XVII: Now final step is just to check all the functions and in the end run a CPU- intensive program and enjoy the higher level of the performance.
