Energy is counted as most important part of everyone’s life because appliances that we use in daily life work because of electricity. To get energy different resources are used, some of them are renewable energy sources, while others are non-renewable. Non-renewable resources are also natural sources which are used to produce electricity. But these natural resources can produce energy for once only, after it we cannot use them to regenerate energy on small or large scale. These resources have no future, as we are not able to generate or re-grow those natural elements.
Nowadays we are using non-renewable resources must faster than their natural growth rate, that is why now we are lacking in these resources and they are becoming rare day by day. Famous among these resources are coal, petroleum, natural gases, nuclear power and other fossil fuels etc. All these are indeed best sources to get energy but there extensive use is increasing price of them.
Different types of non-renewable energy resources:
Different natural elements are difficult to grow again, as fast as we are consuming them to satisfy our purposes. Some of them are coal, natural gases, petroleum and nuclear power.
Fossil fuels are great source of energy from the start of this civilization. Some sources said that the amount of energy that we use through fossil fuels in a day is equal to the energy that sun provides us in period of 30 days. It took million of years to produce fossil foods, as they are formed by subsequent natural pressure, burying, and heating of dead animal and plats. In this way coal, oil and other natural gases are formed naturally. To release these energies from fossil fuels they are burnt and best area to get coal and oil is Australia. They have bundles of these natural elements that is why; they are easily available there at very cheap rates. These fuels are not great source of electricity.
Petroleum:
This is getting rare and expensive non-renewable energy source and includes petrol or gasoline, diesel, propane, jet fuel, heating oil and paraffin wax etc. Famously these all things are known as crude oil, which is made with organic matter naturally. For human beings it is not possible to produce these products even after millions of years. Therefore now humans are trying to reduce its use to save it for future.
Natural gases:
Natural gases took year to form and they are basically formed through methane, after its decay for years. After extracting it from earth, different elements are removed from it besides methane. In this way many other gases are produced like ethane, propane and butane etc. They help in heating houses and fuel stoves etc. This is a non-renewable energy as it took thousands of years in decomposition of natural resources.
Nuclear power:
This also comes under some rare and non renewable natural energies like gases and petroleum. Its reason is that elements that are used in formation no this energy is uranium, which is a rare fuel and is also non renewable to use again and again. With that this is very expensive way of producing energy and limited natural supply stop us from repeating this act.
Pros and cons of non-renewable energy:
These are very easy to use, just put fuel in your vehicle and you are ready to go anywhere.
- With small amount of natural resources you can get huge outputs.
- To convert natural elements into other forms of energy is very chearp.
- Soon all these non renewable sources of energy will expire and we need substitutes
- Price of these natural resources are rising day by day and reason it their limited availability.
