32-Core CPU’s from Intel and AMD
Today if the user is using a processor with a single core then it’s considered outdated because now it’s not the time to use it. And if you are a professional and are still using a quad core processer then that is also not suitable for you. Now days the basic laptops are also equipped with four core processors, which make the working easier for its users.
What is 32 Core CPU: Here we are going to discuss about the latest advancement that we are monitoring in the world of processors from Intel and AMD. This is the new 32 core processor CPU which is here to improve the experience of multitasking operations and improved processing power for users now. AMD and Intel both are trying to put more and more cores on a single CPU. These 32-nanometer processors (down from today’s 45nm chips) will be in the markets soon. 32 cores would sound too much at first glance but in real it’s not that big as you would be imaging it. It’s just a small chip which carries all the components in one small space. This chip or processor is combination of Turbo Boost Technology and Hyper Threading Technology. These technologies enable the 32 core processor to work with high process application easily. Intel named this 32 Core processor “Kelifer” which is a combination of 32 brains and all of them can work for the user at a time.
This project was first going to be launched in 2009-10 but some problem just stops its launch. Those problems were that developers were confused that how to fit these 32 cores in one chip. The memory management issues also cause the problem for its completion on time. It was becoming difficult to handle all the 32 cores with the current CPUs. Its quite complex to have 32 brains pulling out form a single RAM. To solve all these complexities developers need some time and effort. Intel and AMD jointly say that they will surely complete this project soon and then they will start working with more core than this in future.
If we talk about the I-series of Intel then we can find many processors in the market now days. Latest from Intel is Intel i7 processor which is with eight cores and is named Nehalem. And if we talk about the project of AMD with 8 cores then it’s named as Montreal.
When it is coming in market: as we discussed earlier that Intel was going to launch this new project Kelifer in the year 2010 but due to some complexities it was not possible for them to launch it on announced date. Therefore Intel just put it on a side and started working on Nehalem which now available in the markets for users. As now 16 cores are in the market so it is expected that in 2013 or 2014 32 core CPU will be available.
AMD says about its 32 core CPU that will be available soon which will take the space of just an accelerator card. They have also said that they would not be late about introduction of their 32 core CPU like other venders and they have promised they are going to provide much better quality then others.
So if we have to sum up all about 32 core CPU then we can easily say that these new processor are indeed for the help of users. And these uses can vary from students to professionals. All of them can do multitasking easily when they will have the power of 32 brains at a time. They do not need to wait for hours then to solve different problems at a time. They can do all of the work in very efficient and quick manner.
